Sometimes we meet at the church to go and other times we meet at the restaurant. Please call Donna Grigsby or Gertie Sykes for details. Good food, good friends and a good time--come and join us.Twice a year the Cameron UMW holds consignment sales which give families an opportunity to sell used toys, clothes, furniture, baby equipment and books and games to other families with children twelve and under. The sellers keep 60% of the proceeds and the remaining 40% goes to mission work including supporting numerous local charities. In addition, any donations are donated to organizations providing assistances to persons in need in the community. Interested persons should contact the church office.

UMW NEWS In recognition of their time and effort to help make Cameron Church a pleasing place for everyone, UMW Special Membership Pins were awarded to Jim Carman, Kelly Castillo and Trevor Specht on Women's Sunday. We appreciate all the things you do! Congratulations!!! UMW Members--Looking for some good summer reading? Check the book table as you enter Skelton Hall. Special books and Response Magazines are there for you to choose. Nearby is a book cart full of other good books--humor, inspiration, fiction, faith, information on many things and people. Whether you are reading for pleasure or for information, keep a list of what you read, including Response Magazines, so that our Unit can receive credit in the District Reading Program for all the books we read. If you have suggestions for books to order, please contact Nancy Williams. So, grab a book, grab a candy bar (or some celery), and settle down for a reading adventure!

CONSIDER JOINING THE WOMEN OF FAITH Would you like to live your life on the mountaintop, seeing the future in neat elegant patterns? But in reality, you keep finding yourself in the valleys, struggling in the present and unable to see a future. Join the Women of Faith as we explore Patsy Clairmonts book, "Dancing Bones, Living Lively in the Valley." This study, based on the Old Testament book of Ezekiel, explores the uplifting truth taught to Ezekiel thousands of years ago. With Gods help, "its possible for the broken to live and even dance in the valley. Who are the Women of Faith? We are a group of women who gather each Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Brides Room to share in fellowship and study the word of God. We nurture friendship and faith and sometimes, just have a good time. We will be restarting our weekly meetings, following a summer break, on Monday, September 20th. We will meet in the upper parking lot (at 9:00 a.m. this week only) and carpool to the IHOP in Manchester lakes to enjoy breakfast together. We would love to have you join us. If you would like to join our study, it would be helpful to know so we can be sure we have enough books for each participant. If you have hoped for a small group to connect with other Christians and deepen your spirituality, consider joining us this September. We are here for you, as well as each other as we celebrate each day as part of Gods creation. If you have any questions or comments, please call Barbara Turpyn, H: 703-960-5960 or O: 703-960-9505. |
