The sellers keep 60% of the proceeds and the remaining 40% goes to mission work including supporting numerous local charities. In addition, any donations are donated to organizations providing assistances to persons in need in the community. Interested persons should contact the church office.

Phoenix Rising Meal Program: 5th Fridays in applicable months

Whenever there is a month with five (5) Friday’s, the UMW Circles take turns preparing meals in support of the Route One Shalom Cooperative food ministry program. The delivery volunteers set out with sandwiches and pre-packed food items, making several stops along the Route One corridor from the beltway to the Fairfax County Parkway, south of Ft. Belvoir, Alexandria, delivering a nutritious bagged meal to those who are homeless and living in tents, vehicles, and motels. These meals provide nourishment to those who may not otherwise have something to eat that weekend, filling their stomachs and touching their hearts, as well as nourishing those of us doing the serving.

Cameron’s UMW Circles, with assistance from the youth group, are responsible for meal packaging and delivery 4-5 times a year.  All ages help in this ministry as the tasks vary from making sandwiches, assembling the bag lunches, writing personal messages of encouragement and faith to place in the bags, and assisting in delivery. Frequently our children and youth decorate the bags with their artwork and messages.
