All Cameron women are invited for fellowship, worship, study and outreach.

We are organized to achieve our purpose “to know God, to fellowship, and to mission” through the unit and circles.

Unit meetings are held throughout the year. Dates and times are listed in the Sunday bulletin and the Beacon.

Three circles make up our unit. Circles and meeting times are:

Miriam Gruber Circle    2nd Thursday    10:30a.m.
Ivy Chou Circle           2nd Tuesday       9:30 a.m.
Virginia Jarvis Circle    2nd Monday        7:00 p.m.

You do not have to be a UMW member to participate.

Our UMW is active in the church. We annually host the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. This year we are especially excited about “Celebrate Spring,” a new Women’s Spring Event being held in place of the Mother-Daughter Banquet. Other opportunities for fellowship, learning about God, and mission will be held throughout the year, including a tour of Pohick Church. Our Reading Program books, on the table outside Skelton Hall, are available for all adults and children to enjoy.

Our UMW is active in the local community. With proceeds from the Children’s Consignment Sale, our major fundraiser held in the spring and the fall, we support numerous local charities. They include Rising Hope, Koinonia, Mt. Vernon-Lee Child Development Center, Mt. Eagle ES Reading is Fundamental program, Bethany House, and New Hope Housing.

Our UMW is active in the global community. Consignment sale proceeds, pledges, and special offerings help support Virginia Conference UMW projects and UMW-designated national and international missions.

We invite all the women of Cameron to become part of the United Methodist Women. If you have questions, any of us will be happy to talk with you.
